The Corp
Since 1993, Riverdale High's AFJROTC unit has created leaders and good citizens. For two consecutive years, we have received excellent rating in our annual inspection, 1998-99, and 1999-00. Our corp consists of a group, with two squadrons, and five flights. With forty staff members, our 120 cadet corps proves again and again that AFJROTC is number one. Here are some of the clubs and teams in our corps:

Girls' Exhibition Team
A exhibition unarmed and armed drill team comprised of all girls.
This team is currently in developement, however, we do travel to various elementary and middle schools drilling, talking about what AFJROTC can do for them, and show them their uniforms, etc.
Our Color Guard competes at annual competitions, as well as display colors at school board meetings, football games, awards ceremonies, and graduation. They currently have seven of the best cadets in the corps, working together to show what teamwork is all about, marhing in tight formation. They will be competing at Bonnabel's drill competition.
Our Drill Team is a new team, competing in 1999's L.W. Higgin's annual drill competition. It is comprised of 40 of our best drilling cadets with the knowledge and motivation. They will be competing at Bonnabel's drill competition.
The Flag Team displays the 50 state flags in Mardi Gras parades, football games, and other events. This dedicated group of cadets show motivation and teamwork.
Kitty Hawk is comprised of cadets with an A grade in the ROTC course and a 3.0 grade point average. These academic cadets help those unfortunate cadets with their problems by tutoring in all subjects taught at RHS.
This fun-filled club constructs and launches model rockets by using propulsion and science.
Our Rifle Team consists of 12 cadets with ability to control rifles with high-flying tricks and spins.
The Sabre Team presents arms at parades and graduation. These 16 cadets do their best with patience and skill.
This exhibition drill team consists of only female cadets, showing "girl power" with exhibition and traditional drill steps.
